Re: HS QB player on WWTBAM

First off, I just want to thank everyone for the
nice e-mails some of you have sent regarding my WWTBAM
appearance earlier this week. Yes, redemption is nice
:)

 A few things about my appearance that a couple of
you asked about...

 -- That is my collar stay.
My boss truly did give me the stay after my first
episode aired. I figured that the show would highlight
our moments of infamy, so I figured I'd one-up the
show. I wanted to do the same with Martin, but Barry
Bostwick refused to come to the taping with us :)


-- According to my sister, Regis had a "deer in the
headlights" look when I started spewing Rock catchphrases.
Apparently, he was quickly cued on his video screen to
describe the "People's Eyebrow" not to look, uh, foolish
:)

 As far as QB being an advantage or disadvantage
when trying out for a quiz show, like my first
appearance, I emphasized other things about my life -- work,
teaching and the like. For the second show, I decided to
put greater emphasis on writing a question for
Trivial Pursuit when I was 18 - since it was $1 more then
what I won on my first WWTBAM appearance.

 But
again, this was a personal decision on my behalf - I
wanted to emphasize that there was more to me than
tossups and buzzers - and it seemed to work. But it won't
work for everyone.
