Hope everyone's summer is beginning well. The 2001 Chicago Open will be a packet submission open event held on Saturday, July 28. For details check out the tournament website at www.geocities.com/suby10/2001ChiOpen.html I plan on updating that website within the next couple of days when I get some time. Also, on Sunday, July 29 we will host a mirror of Matt Weiner's singles tournament, which like the team event is open to all comers. Questions will be provided by Matt et al. Anyway, let me update you all on a couple of things. First of all, I've gotten 2 packets but would like more early and as an incentive to get more packets early I'm pushing the -$30 discount back to this Friday, June 8 midnight CST. I'll probably also push back the other deadlines a few days, but that hasn't been decided for sure. To those teams planning on participating on the mirrors at GW and Berkeley, you don't have to submit packets, but if you do it will be cheaper for you. As for the Chicago event, I have 6 teams registered so far and a couple of free agents. The cap will probably be 15 (maybe 17). For the singles event I have 13 players so far and plan on capping at 40. E-mail me at suby10_at_... if you want to register for either tournament and/or have any questions. As for your summer reading and pure enjoyment I recommend Exodus, Mila 18, and Trinity by Leon Uris. Subash
