Just home from Panasonic. My greatest congratulations to Douglas Tyson, Dan, and company from DC. They played a brilliant strategic game: getting the lead early in the final round and letting Florida, Maryland, Kentucky, and South Carolina kill each other trying to catch up. It was a text-book display of how the crazy format should be played. DC's excellent play was also a great benefit to my team, which talent-wise wasn't even close to any of the other finalists. However, we nearly snuck into the top three as ther others gambled for the national title. The championship game score was: DC All-Stars 183 Florida All-Stars 157 Maryland All-Stars 147 Burlington (VT) 144 Dunbar (KY) 143 South Carlina All-Stars 118 The scores in the semifinal round were: South Carolina 338 Burlington 181 Oklahoma All-Stars 164 Georgia All-Stars 141 George Washington (WV) 122 Vandebilt Catholic (LA) 102 Maryland 282 Dunbar 229 Cistercian Prep (TX) 176 NC School of Science and Math 166 Mississippi (Murrah HS I think) 160 Missouri All-Stars 122 Florida 228 DC 210 Eisenhower (MI) 207 Illinois All-Stars 167 Grissom (AL) 137 Massachusetts All-Stars 113 Anyway, we had a great time and achieved success only invisioned in our wildest dreams. -Kevin Commo Assistant Coach Burlington (VT) HS
