The Vancouver Estival Trivia Open and its mirror in London, Ontario, are desperately seeking a moderator for their telephone championship match. The moderator can be located ANYWHERE in Canada or the United States. The match will take place this Saturday, July 14, 2001, at around 5 p.m. PDT / 8 p.m. EDT (9:30 p.m. in Newfoundland). It will last about 30-40 minutes. All you need is a regular telephone and some patience dealing with a new variant of quiz bowl. The rules will be those of untimed NAQT, with stricter rules about recognition, and we may also possibly have a sub-moderator at each site to watch that players do not misbehave. A question packet (a Canadianized version of a packet donated by NAQT) will be e-mailed to you. You will be compensated for the cost of the three-way call to Vancouver and London, Ontario. If you've ever dreamed of being a celebrity in Canada, or if you are curious about how quiz bowl works over the telephone, then this is your chance! Contact Peter McCorquodale at pmcc_at_... .
