FYI, the first day of
Ramadan is NOT a religious holiday in Islam _per se_;
there are no special celebrations to mark the first
day.
Moreover, it's not definite that the 17th will be the first
day of Ramadan; without looking at the lunar
calendar, I cannot say for certain, but it could be either
the 16th or the 18th.
Finally, as far as
tournaments go: there are few fundamental religious
prohibitions on activities during the fasting hours of
Ramadan; most limits are imposed by practical
considerations. There's no reason why someone couldn't play QB
during Ramadan, although being a moderator would
certainly be much harder.
