Hello Everyone, Carnegie Mellon College Bowl is pleased to present Ebowla, a modified-ACF tournament written by Eric Steinhauser, formerly of the University of Pittsburgh. The tournament will be held on Saturday, October 6 on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. A registration form can be found at: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/org/college-bowl/ebowl/ DIFFICULTY & ELIGIBILITY --- The targeted difficulty is NAQT Sectionals / ACF Regionals, with questions challenging enough for seasoned veterans, yet accessible to new players. Registration is open to anyone taking a college course this academic year. Because I am writing all the packets, NO SUBMISSION IS NECESSARY. This could be a good experience for newer players to experience a quality collegiate tournament without the burden of question writing early in the season. DISTRIBUTION & CONTENT --- I have tried to maintain a consistent distribution throughout the packets, following fairly standard ACF guidelines. In a 20/20 packet: 4/4 Science 4/4 Literature 4/4 History 2/2 Fine Arts 2/2 Religion, Myth, Philosophy 3 Q Social Science 1/1 Geography, Current Events 1/1 Trash 1 Q General Knowledge FEE STRUCTURE --- $80 First team $70 Additional teams -$10 Buzzer systems -$10 Moderator/Staff -$15 School more than 300 miles away $50 Minimum fee per team We hope to see you on October 6. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about question level, content, or any other issue. Thank you, -- Eric Steinhauser Tournament Director, CMU College Bowl Yahoo! Mail: e_steinhauser
