Hi Everyone! My name is Elmer Smith and I am the Vice President of Boston University College Bowl. Crimson Puppy Chow V will be the first tournament that I direct by myself. I just want to let everyone know who I am and what I'll be doing. The official announcement for Crimson Puppy Chow V follows. Boston University College Bowl is proud to announce Crimson Puppy Chow V, to be held at Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences on Saturday October 20th, 2001. Following in the foot steps of previous years the event will be a junior bird event. This means that players are only eligible if they've had one year or less of collegiate tournament experience through NAQT, TRASH, or CBI play. (EXCEPTION: Players with only CBI experience will be given leniency up to two years of experience, since CBI only holds tournaments once or twice a year.) Players of all ages are welcomed, as long as they meet the requirement of only one year of collegiate experience. Rules will be modified, untimed NAQT ( http://www.naqt.com ). All normal NAQT rules are in effect, with the exception of those dealing with clocks. NAQT will provide the questions, thus there is no need for question submission. Fees will go as follows: $100 base fee -$10 per competent moderator who can work a majority of the day -$5 per working buzzer system -$10 for each extra team after the first ($90 for a 'B' team, $80 for a 'C'...) $60 minimum fee/team* To register, please contact BU College Bowl ( qbowl_at_... ) Registration has begun and will be open through Wednesday, October 17. If there are any questions feel free to ask. Direct questions to either the BUCB account or me at esmith2_at_... Hope to see you on October 20th. Elmer Smith VP BUCB
