Just to clarify ...
After the RR,
Kentucky, Pitt, and Michigan all had a 9-1 record, with a
circle of death between them.
Our first
tiebreaker for circle of death situations was total
differential against the other teams in the circle. Kentucky
was at +30, while both Pitt and Michigan were at -15.
Kentucky thus "won" the circle of death, and automatically
claimed #1 seed, leaving Pitt and Michigan "tied" at 9-1.
Reverting back to the first tie breaker now that only two
teams were in contention for the #2 slot, Pitt had
defeated Michigan and was thus declared #2.
We had
three of the best teams in the region pretty well
knotted up ... it would have been nice to just declare
them all winners, but we only had 4 Pilsner glasses to
give away. :-)
