HEARTLAND TRASH REGIONALS University of Missouri Rolla (UMR) November 10, 2001 The University of Missouri Rolla is hosting the Heartland Trash Regional (I know, where the hell is Rolla?). WHAT'S THE FORMAT? Format is going to be the usual TRASH, if you dont know what that is, peruse the QB and TRASH message forums to get more info. There will be something like a minimum of 12 rounds per team. Blah Blah Blah. If you have questions e-mail cbowl_at_.... FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS: New School: $35 First team: $75 Second team: $60 Third team and on: $50 Buzzer system: -$10 Game official: -$10 Distance discount: -$10 per player from at least 150 miles away Clock: +$10 (we're untimed, people!) Minimum fee (for teams not playing gratis, as noted above): $30/team POTENTIAL TEAMS: The field in our region is quite diverse. Competition should be stiff and fun. Likely teams to come include Jeremy White, Mizzou, Wichita State, Arkansas, Wash U, etc. But be warned, Im lazy so thus far no one has said they are coming!! WHAT THE BIG DEAL? Teams are playing for pride, recognition, blah, blah, but especially for fun. Also winning teams earn more fun by getting automatic bids (and standing for wild card bids) to TRASHionals, the grand championship tournament for TRASH. TRASHionals 2002 will be from April 12-14 at a site to be determined. ROLLA, WHERE THE HELL IS THAT? Id suggest you go to any online direction site and get you directions there since I suck at writing them. Basically, go to St. Louis and head southwest on 44, or go to Columbia and head south on 63, or go to Tulsa and go Northeast on 44. Stop when you get to Rolla (or keep going if you want, but you risk not winning the tourney if you do that). Make sure your internet directions actually lead to Rolla, MO and not something else like a cow barn. Why I say this is simple. Last year when going to U Illinois UC, our directions took us to Lincoln, IL, not to Lincoln Avenue in Urbana, IL. That surely was a fun time! Once you get to Rolla, find the campus (its pretty easy, we own all the big buildings that arent Wal-Mart). Driving down 63, you will see a sign on the campus that says something to the effect of Campus Police and Student Health turn there and park in the nearby parking lot. Go to the Engineering Management building that is right across the street you turned on. Thats where were all meeting and stuff. Get to the E-Man building by 9:00am on Sat the 10th for check-in, etc. The tourney will run until we finish but will be contiguous! WHERES THE BEEF AND WHO DO I TELL? Since everyone who reads this will undoubtedly desire to play, you all should e-mail us and cbowl_at_.... E-mail that same address with any additional questions, like if youd like to know what kind of lodgings we have, etc. WHAT ELSE? Everyone go to this link and laugh their ass off: http://www.frashii.com/wldo.swf. Thats it. Tell everyone you know about it, the more the merrier.
