<<At Trashmasters this past weekend, there
was a tossup on Michael Chabon's _The
Amazing
Adventures of Kavalier & Clay_. I know of at least some
people who will say that it
is appropriate subject
matter for a lit tossup in an academic
round.>>
<<It did win a Pulitzer...I'm more
astonished that someone decided it's appropriate for
trash.>>
I wrote the Kavalier and Clay question. If you know
anything about the book other than the Pulitzer fact,
there's no reason for astonishment. It's about two
comic-book creators, after all, and is very informed about
the comics world from the 30s through 50s.
Certainly more trashworthy in terms of content than
Franzen's _The Corrections_, which popped up *twice* this
weekend, mostly due to the Oprah brouhaha.
