NAQT Sectionals Midsouth (Chattanooga)

The UTC Academic Trivia Association will host
NAQT Sectionals Midsouth in Chattanooga the weekend of
Feb. 9. Please note that (unless the field is much
smaller than the past two years) this will be a TWO DAY
tournament this year -- Fri.-Sat., Feb. 8-9. Registration
will begin at 5:30 PM EST on Friday, with play
beginning at 6:30 PM and resuming Saturday at 9 AM.

Fees for NAQT
Sectionals Midsouth are as follows: 
Base fee: $100 per
team 
Discounts: - $10 for each additional team
after the first from a given school 
 - $15 for
first time in an NAQT tournament 
 - $5 for a
working lockout buzzer system 
 - $5 for a working
timer clock 
 - $10 for an experienced official
available for the duration of the tournament 
 Minimum
fee for any team: $60. Checks should be made payable
to UTC Academic Trivia Association. 

The
tournament will take place in Grote and Holt Halls on the
UT-Chattanooga campus, with tournament HQ in Grote 129. The
tournament director is (shock of shocks) Charlie Steinhice
of UTC, with Stephen Taylor of Macon State as
assistant TD. 

LODGINGS: We got our favorite place
again. The Clarion (423-756-5150) is holding rooms
through Jan. 26 at the rate of $65 per night. This rate
is available Friday night 2/8 and Sat. night 2/9.
