The neg-5 website has been updated as of the post- MLK era, awaiting contributions from any non-Pitt people who witnessed negs in their matches. The server was down for the past week and a half until today, though. Does anyone know of any other sites that'll provide web space without requiring banner or popup ads? MLK was really well-written; especially enjoyable was the literature and trash distribution, I thought...and not just because it included tossups on Christopher Isherwood, Louise Brooks, and Jasper from The Simpsons. Also the cookies were excellent and the chem and bio questions knew what they were talking about (except the one about nerve cells); and they didn't use my horrible sociology tossup; and it was a good surprise that in the room where we were listening someone had heard of the book in my literature tossup (The Book Of The City Of Women) although the only time I'd ever heard of it myself was in a magazine review of some other book. And the current events questions weren't immediately obvious; whoever wrote the Segway question found a good angle. And there weren't any delays in the whole event. Minor complaints: I only heard one linguistics question (Provencal tossup), compared to at least 15 economics. There were about 10 Japanese history questions, and I think "overdominance" should have been accepted when the answer was "heterozygote advantage", but that could be wrong. A day well spent. http://lab.eccentrica.org/neg-5/ Michael davies mld6_at_...
