I can assure you that plenty of people without
real economics knowledge (such as myself) would have
gotten Frisch at some point--(curiously, I once saw a
tossup that confused him with the other Frisch--the
ethologist who worked with bees) and everyone knows that the
Laffer curve was first written on a bar napkin--that's
one of the oldest leadins ever. Unlike the rest of
the social sciences, I actually have respect for econ
and expect to see questions on it (and thanks to you
I will now have to go look up Solow who I had not
heard of) but to decide based upon the average college
student's major and interests what we ask will lead
strictly to Dave Matthews questions.
