Jason Keller said: "It's not just about the questions. I liken CBI NCT's to more a conference than a tournament. . . .CBI NCT, from my experience, is structured in the same way. The tournament is spread out and allows teams to enjoy other things on their own. Most other tournaments which I have been to have not allowed me this luxury. The team spends Friday nights in transit, and after we arrive at the hotel, we are usually too tired to do anything. We then have the whole tournament on Saturday, and try to get back as quickly as possible so we can save our Sunday." I would agree with Jason's sentiments. In addition I would point out the related example of HCASC. As one of the few qb-ers to have staffed HCASC in the past (1999), I would have to say that at HCASC, the tournament is surrounded by much more in the way of outside activities than any tournament I have ever competed in, CBI NCTs included. On the basis of the overall experience, I probably saw more happy and outwardly excited players on lousy teams than in all my other non-trash tournaments combined. I believe that _if_ CBI tournaments are run properly with competant staff, outside activities, and adequate administrative/corporate funding (as CBCI/ACUI have aggresively pursued these past 3-4 years), they can provide great experiences, on par with anything the circuit has to offer.
