Hello, this message is meant to thank all the host schools, the readers, writers, my fellow- mostly science- editor Dave Hamilton, and most importantly, the players, who participated in/helped run ACF Regionals around the country this year. Though there was some fluctuation up or down on the difficulty meter, and more hip-hop than the qb scene is normally accustomed to (not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion), I thought that for the most part the questions were challenging and gettable, academic and fun to play on. I felt that this tournament, more than most, tried to move away from the traditional white/dead/male canon in an interesting, but still accessible manner. I do recognize that I probably should have sat on the set one more day and read all of the packets over one last time, but so many of the questions came in so late, about half of them after the FINAL Deadline of Feb. 9th, at which point I was hardcore studying for my prelims, that I guess my concern with style (ironic for an English major) took a backseat to substance in editing the questions. I was not really thinking about the havoc that might reap on the reader of the packets. So, I do apologize for that and I beseech the next ACF regionals editor to allot some time for checking formatting, grammar, spelling, etc... Also, the 21 and 21 might have been a bit excessive considering the pace at which ACF rounds seem to move, so the Trash requirement should've probably been moved into the first 20... there's always next year. Finally, if you would like to purchase the complete set of questions (typos included for free) email your local host. It is $20 for 18 packets. Thanks again, and I'll see many of you at Kentucky , Chapel Hill, and/or GWU. Ezequiel Berdichevsky, Speaking only for himself, though he was head editor of ACF Regionals 2002
