So the QB-Madness people have picked their NCAA tournament, so the NIT cannot be far behind in picking the best of the rest! Here's how the 32 were chosen (e-mail Andy Goss for questions on 1 and 2): "1. Any team that was considered by somebody to be an at-large bid is in this field. That took care of 19 of the 32 bids. 2. Any team which someone considered worthy of an autobid was given full consideration. Their % of autobids won (and because some people voted multiple teams, this varies quite a bit) was multiplied by the number of teams from their conference who made the Big Dance to get a final percent rating. The top 13 of those were let in." 3. From there the seedings were done randomly with numbers drawn from a hat. No conference was allowed to have two of their own teams square off against each other in the first two rounds. Without further ado: here are the brackets. All caps indicates first round home game, * indicates that winner of the game will get second round home. The final 8 teams will play their games at the RCA Dome/ Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN North Carolina vs. DePAUW at Greencastle, IN *Tennessee-Chattanooga vs. PENNSYLVANIA at Philadelphia, PA Tennessee vs. VIRGINIA TECH at Blacksburg, VA *Western Ontario vs. PROVIDENCE at Providence, RI Arkansas vs. MOREHOUSE at Atlanta, GA *St. Bonaventure vs. AKRON at Akron, OH William and Mary vs. DARTMOUTH at Hanover, NH *Rhodes vs. WISCONSIN at Madison, WI Villanova vs. DELAWARE at Newark, DE *Columbia vs. OHIO STATE at Columbus, OH Queen's vs. NORTHWESTERN at Evanston, IL *Missouri vs. WILLIAMS at Williamstown, MA Ole Miss vs. ARIZONA STATE at Tempe, AZ *Penn State vs. GEORGIA TECH at Atlanta, GA Louisiana-Lafayette vs. INDIANA at Bloomington, IN *New York University vs. MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY at Kansas City, MO So there's the NIT brackets. All submissions will follow similar deadlines as QB_Madness and should be sent to cbowl_at_... where they will be tabulated by their alotted times. I will try to get to them in a timely manner, but since we're nearing finals at the moment it may be a little behind. Thanks, Michael Philpy Commissioner QB-Madness NIT
