The Sun-n-Fun Invitational was held at USF in Tampa, FL, on Saturday. Seven teams competed -- two from Valencia CC, two from Florida Atlantic, and one each from USF, UNF, and FCCJ (Florida Community College at Jacksonville). Teams played a round robin, followed by lesser round robins within the upper and lower brackets. FAU A won the tournament at 9-0, with FAU B and FCCJ tied for 2nd at 6-3 -- I don't know who officially took 2nd via the tiebreaker. Prior to the final round robin, Valencia A was 4th, North Florida was 5th, the USF house team was 6th, and Valencia B was 7th -- the order didn't change too much in the end, but I'll leave that part to the USF folks so I don't announce incorrect information. Raj Dhuwalia of FAU A was the high scorer, followed by Chip Thomas of FCCJ, Kevin Bush of FAU B, and James Baker of Valencia A. James Baker also won the neg title, earning himself a local bus schedule to commemorate his efforts. My thanks to Jeremy Rasmussen and USF for running a good tournament, especially after the absence of one team and a complete shutdown of I-4 forced them to improvise some of the scheduling. Thanks to USF for ordering pizza to make the lunch break shorter -- that was a good idea. Also, thanks to the folks from DSHIT for sending some well-written packets. --Raj Dhuwalia, Florida Atlantic University [the most prominent alumnus of which, to contribute to a discussion of some weeks ago, may well be Carrot Top]
