Although we respect and endorse Anthony's statement that discussion
regarding the GW-UCI spat be kept private, Dave Bykowski and myself,
in our final act as directors of Michigan Academic Competitions,
would like to publicly make the following statement:
In accordance with the longstanding policy of Michigan quizbowl,
which we believe has been in effect since the formation of the
program, we will not be attending any tournaments at UC-Irvine in the
foreseeable future.
It is our hope that next year's directors, Geoff Zmyslowski
(internal), Ryan Blay (financial), and Matt Lafer (external) continue
this policy, as we cannot afford to change it at this time.
