After 13 rounds of quizbowl, Matt Weiner took his perfect 12-0 record into the playoffs at the #1 seed at the Eighth Annual Kidder Cup in Ann Arbor. After three rounds of single-elimination playoffs, though, it was Dwight Kidder defeating Anthony de Jesus 270-190 in the final to retain possession of the Kidder Cup, making him the first three-time winner of the Michigan One-on-One Tournament. And because hey, everybody's a winner, and we have the manpower to do it, Mike Burger rallied furiously and played excellent four corners defense to win three straight games to take home the Dixie Cup (an actual Dixie Cup) for the winner of the non-playoff side. Congratulations to Mike Burger, who won the newly inaugurated Dixie Cup for the players who did not make the round of 8. Special thanks to Julie Stahlhut, Kevin Olmstead, Anne Mitchell, Brandy Shattuck, Ryan Blay, and DCDS's Amber Obermeyer for moderating; Thanks to Anthony de Jesus for donating prizes for those who won them.
