If it's anything like the recent "Klez" worms, it spoofs the "From:"
part of the header. Often, it will choose something at random from the
user's inbox. I don't use Outlook or any other mail programs which can
run these malicious attachments, but I've had e-mails like these bounce
back as if I sent them. Don't assume that person X has a virus just
because you got a virus-infected e-mail from person X.
Chances are, one person with a lot of quiz bowl contacts got the virus,
and has been unknowingly propagating it since then. Worms like these
are fairly easy to block if your e-mail program supports filtering; if
not, just wait it out and hope for the best.
