Playing History

High School

Only playing for his senior year of high school in the MSHSAA format, Jacob did not encounter good quiz bowl until his first practice at Truman State University.

College

2010-2011

Jacob's first tournament during the 2010-2011 season was the Early Autumn Collegiate Novice Tournament. [1] After 2010 ACF Fall at Truman State[2], his next tournament was the 2011 SCT at Missouri State, where he placed 5th individually in D-II. [3] Since playing harder tournaments such as ACF Regionals[4], he has realized how much work he still has to do, and has begun studying harder to improve. His last tournament was the 2011 MUT mirror at Rock Bridge High School, where Truman A placed 4th.[5]

2011-2012

The 2011-2012 season saw Jacob play on many high placing Truman teams, including at the Missiles of October mirror at Rock Bridge [6] and the 2012 SCT at Oklahoma State, where his team ultimately earned a bid to participate in the 2012 ICT[7]. He placed 10th individually in Division II at the ICT. [8]

2012-2013

Jacob directed Truman's mirror of QUARK, which was won by WUSTL. He also played on the team that attended Penn-ance and finished 4-6 (where he finished tied for 9th individually). At ACF Fall 2012 at Wisconsin, his team won the Division II title and he finished fifth in overall scoring after the prelims[9]. With Jared McNett, he co-directed the Region 11 SCT, where the DI title was won by Wash U A and the DII title was won by Wash U B. Jacob also played on the team which won the 2013 ACF Regionals at Wash U, where he was the highest scorer of the tournament.

Directing

Jacob has also directed 3 tournaments: the Kirksville Tournament, which had 10 teams and was won by Kirksville A; Truman's QUARK Mirror, which was won by WUSTL; and (with Jared McNett as a co-director) the 2013 Region 11 SCT.
