With eight seconds left on the clock and one tossup remaining, the moderator ([[Seth Teitler]]) inadvertently declared the game over before discovering that he had skipped tossup 20. After a brief timeout, that was read as tossup 24; LASA got it for 10 points and 30d their bonus to take the championship with a final score of 455-440.

The 2013 NAQT HSNCT was held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia on May 25-26, 2013. 256 teams attended.

This would be the last HSNCT to crown a small school champion. Starting in 2014, the separate SSNCT would crown small school champions.

Results

LASA A won against Ladue A in a tense final, in which Ladue powered tossup 23 to bring the score to 440-410. With eight seconds left on the clock and one tossup remaining, the moderator (Seth Teitler) inadvertently declared the game over before discovering that he had skipped tossup 20.
