R. Robert Hentzel is the former chief technical officer, president, and chief editor of NAQT. Hentzel is an alumnus of Iowa State University, and his playing career also includes a number of appearances in west coast tournaments, playing on masters teams. At some point in his extensive career he seems to have won a tournament playing solo. Other notable playing achievements include winning the 2000 and 2002 Chicago Opens and being considered among the best players ever.
