J.R. Barry (or Rick Barry) was the long-time coach of Brookwood High School until his 2011 retirement. He also served as the tournament director of the Brookwood Invitational Scholars Bowl, one of the largest quiz bowl tournaments in the country. He was also one of the founders and directors of ACE Quizbowl Camps and the Georgia Academic Team Association.
