Raja Vel is alumnus of Columbia and Wilmington Charter. As a freshman at Charter, Raja memorized many pages of the NAQT Literature frequency list. For the next several years, he proceeded to get many author tossups off of a named work. One of his feats was to eliminate the powerhouse 2008 Dorman team from the HSNCT by getting the final computation tossup.

Raja's team accomplishments include:

- PACE NSC: 3rd in 2008
- 2008 NAC 2nd
- 1st at Blue Hen 2008 [1]
- 1st at Temple 2008
- 1st at the 2007 Maryland TTGT11 mirror, playing against college and open teams [2]
- 1st at LIFT 2007
- 1st at the Comcast Academic Challenge 2007 and 2008.
- 1st at the Delaware Fall Open 2005 [3] (JV)
