Jonah Greenthal is a former player at Chicago, Illinois, and New Trier, but is more notable as a staffer, tournament director, and for general administrative and technical work.

He head-edited and wrote a plurality of the 2008 and 2009 New Trier Varsity tournaments, which he has co-directed (with David Reinstein) since 2009. He also helps edit the New Trier Scobol Solo, for which he developed custom software. He occasionally contributed to Aegis Questions, and wrote for Brad Fischer's 2009-10 conference set, SCOP Novice 2010–12, the second CMST, the 2010 through 2012 IHSA State Series, and assorted other tournaments.

Jonah is a member of NAQT, for which is work includes subject editing mathematics and lower-level computer science, physics, and visual arts; software development; and logistical work, including directing MSNCT since 2012.

Jonah coordinates the moderator certification program and does software development and other technical tasks for IHSSBCA.

With Tom Egan, he was the commissioner of the Scholastic Bowl program in the Central Suburban League for the 2010-11 academic year, during which he also assistant-coached at St. Ignatius. In 2012 he assistant-coached at Loyola Academy.
