Joe Hermiller (1925-2010) was a history teacher at Bowsher High School in Toledo, Ohio.

In addition to coaching the quizbowl team at Bowsher, Hermiller began, and for 20 years ran, a quizbowl league for some 15 teams in Northern Ohio.

Hermiller was a teacher for 50 years, almost all of which were in the Toledo public schools. His BA and MA in history were awarded by Loyola University in Chicago.

In 1999, Hermiller was selected as the second recipient of the Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassador Award, a fact that was prominently mentioned in his 2010 obituary.
