Neil Gurram played for MIT and Detroit Country Day. During his high school career, he set what was, until 2015, the all-time individual scoring record for the HSNCT in 2010, and was the top scorer in Division II at the 2011 ICT.
At the 2010 HSNCT, Gurram led his Detroit Country Day team to a 12-4 record, good for a tie for 7th place. Individually, he put up a statline of 82-107-26-120.22 in 15 games played finishing ahead of Matt Jackson from Georgetown Day who posted 115.03 PP20TH.
He is widely regarded as having the fastest buzzer speed of any player of his era.
