During his junior and senior years at Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia, Adam was widely regarded as the best individual player in the high school game. He was the top scorer at the 2011 HSNCT (where he led his team to a tied for 5th finish), the 2012 HSNCT where he led his team to a 4th place finish, and the 2012 NSC, where his team delivered the only defeat to eventual champions Hunter en route to a 3rd place finish and an individual All-Star award. Silverman became the second player to win two HSNCT scoring titles (Jonathan Hess of Irmo in 2001 and 2002).
His other achievements include being the top scorer at the 2011 UGA CCC, the GA Tech HSNCT Warm-Up, the 2012 Texas Invitational, and the second highest scorer at the 2012 NASAT. His brother Bradley also played for Centennial and Georgia Tech.
His exploits were noted in a local Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper article in advance of the 2012 HSNCT.
