Mountain Lakes High School is a small high school located in northern New Jersey. The school has had many notable results in NAQT and IAC tournaments despite its small size of less than 600 students. Graduating students of Briarcliff Middle School and Rockaway Valley School attend Mountain Lakes.
In 2013, a team from the school won the Tri-State Championship on the TV show, The Challenge. In 2013, 2015, and 2024, the team finished in the top three in the NAQT state championship (NAQT New Jersey State Championship and LIQBA Garden Cup). The team came in 7th in the 2021 SSNCT. In 2012, 2022, 2023, and 2024 the team came in the top 30 in the National History Bowl Varsity Division, coming in 6th out of all teams in 2024. In that same year, captain Olin Bose won the IAC US History Bee Varsity national championship. In 2023 and 2024, the team also won the History Bowl Small School National Championship (Varsity Division), becoming the first school to win the title more than once.
