Joey was a member of the Washington University Academic Team for a semester, attending the Gateway Invitational Tournament XIII with the WUSTL team which placed 6th overall. [1]

After arriving at Mizzou, Joey quickly embraced a role on the team, attending ACF Regionals, the Matt Cvijanovich Memorial Novice Tournament and ACF Nationals in 2009.
2009-2011
Joey continued to attend circuit events for Mizzou, playing at Minnesota Open and, solo on a house team, at ACF Fall. Perhaps Joey's most important contribution was as a member of the hosting staff. Joey nobly spent a day keeping statistics at Tiger Bowl II, and moderated at the 2009 Missouri Fall Academic Tournament. Having proven himself very capable of the job, Joey was named a co-director of the inaugural Mort Walker Invitational and became a member of MOQBA in late 2010. Following another year of assisting the Mizzou team, Joey graduated from the university with a degree in chemistry. He still maintains membership in MOQBA.
