Jonah Greenthal is a former player at Chicago, Illinois, and New Trier. More often than playing, he frequently staffs high school and college tournaments around the state and country.
He head-edited and wrote a plurality of the 2008 and 2009 New Trier Varsity tournaments, which he has co-directed (with David Reinstein) since 2009. He also helps edit the New Trier Scobol Solo, for which he developed custom software. He occasionally contributed to Aegis Questions, and wrote for Brad Fischer's 2009-10 conference set, SCOP Novice 2010, the second CMST, the 2010 and 2011 IHSA State Series, and assorted other tournaments. He edits lower-level visual arts and most mathematics questions for NAQT.
Jonah coordinates the moderator certification program and does software development and other technical tasks for IHSSBCA. He has often incurred the wrath of some IHSSBCA members for advocating ACF-style bonuses, good questions, the institution of negs, and the elimination of computational math.
With Tom Egan, he was the commissioner of the Scholastic Bowl program in the Central Suburban League for the 2010-11 academic year, during which he also assistant-coached at St. Ignatius.
