1998 Manheim Township
With a tournament roster of captain Jeff Hoppes, Tim Patterson, Deborah Justice, Greg Rutter, Serban Nicolaescu, and Ryan Sheely, and coached by Anne Clouser and Ken Jones, this team broke all prelim scoring records at the NAC but was upset in the DC quarterfinals by eventual fourth-place finisher and "Rookie of the Year" Verona. A "Sportsmanship Award" was given to the Manheim Township team, which had won it before, after Hoppes applauded the victory of their DC quarterfinals opponent.
Prior to the NAC, Manheim Township had a record of 62-0, accumulated by winning the Lancaster-Lebanon League championship, Conestoga Valley tournament, Lebanon Valley College tournament, Princeton University tournament, and Pennsylvania State Academic Competition.
