2004 Irmo
The 2004 Irmo team consisted of starters Ben Ward, Patrick Hankins, Jacob Hiller, and Kavita Koppa, with Daniel Suddes, and Daniel Gadala-Maria also earning playing time. The team finished in a tie for eighth place at the NAQT HSNCT.
The team qualified for the playoffs with a 6-4 record, suffering losses to St. John's, Dunbar, Russellville, and Columbia.
In the playoffs, Irmo opened with a devestating loss to St. John's 50-440, but then began playing back in the consolation bracket, defeating two good teams.
In the consolation bracket, Irmo successively eliminated Brookwood (325-265), and Thomas Jefferson "B" (300-295).
Promoted to the winner's bracket, Irmo fell to the eventual champion Thomas Jefferson "A", 155-570.
After being a perennial championship qualifier for the better part of a decade, this would be the last time for many years (as of 2008) that Irmo would finish in the top 10 of a legitimate national tournament.
