The fledgling team at Christopher Newport University made its debut in the 2007 EFT mirror at William and Mary. The team consisted of Dave Porter, George Berry, and Chris Diming. While the team only won one game, the Captains were pleased to beat NC State and be only one of two teams at CNU (the other being club ice hockey) to beat an ACC team.
Sadly, due to a lack of funding, the team essentially folded after its one tournament appearance, though Dave moonlighted with Matt Morrison for one trash tournament after that. Dave also played in the first CULT, and later became fraternity brothers with Chris Diming.
