Gregory Hazlett attended the University of Akron where he received an undergraduate in Chemical engineering. He was employed as a field engineer for FM Global, and he currently is a member of FM Global's BPI Team.

Gregory Hazlett was a volunteer coach for the Copley Fairlawn Middle School Quizbowl Team. He is now a volunteer coach for Copley High School.

His son, Nathan Hazlett, is the all time leading scorer in Copley's Middle School History. Nathan captained the team for three years straight, leading Copley to its winningest season in history. Nathan is currently a freshman for Copley High School.
