User:Matthew Groth

Matthew Groth is a former quizbowl player for the University of Delaware. He regularly competed for the school in quizbowl events held from 2009 until his graduation in early 2012 and has made a few one-off appearances since that time, most recently at the CO Trash mirror event held at the University of Maryland in September 2016.

Despite playing in a string of academic quizbowl tournaments, Groth achieved his greatest success as a specialist in Trash competitions. He led the Delaware team to victory at Penn Bowl Trash in 2011 and achieved top 5 individual finishes at 2009 TRASH Regionals Northeast, 2009 FOGHAT Mirror at Delaware, DOKTRINE at the University of Pittsburgh, 2010 TERP, 2011 Penn Bowl Trash, 2012 TERP and 2016 CO Trash Mirror at Maryland. Groth was also part of the Delaware team that placed 4th in Division II at the 2012 ICT.

Groth currently works as a proposal manager at a clinical contract manufacturing organization in Souderton, Pennsylvania.
