Born in Waterloo, Iowa, Scott began his quizbowl career in middle school after a teacher recommended it to him. That year he and his team went undefeated. He would return to the quizbowl scene in his freshmen year at Central High School. Surrounded by powerhouses such as William Gentry and Collin, he knew he had to work hard to be successful. He quickly climbed up the ladder and found himself on Varsity B winning many games with his team. His best subject is mythology and he has a passion for art and literature. He is known among is teammates as "the world's greatest scorekeeper".
