Win-loss record

Record refers to the number of games a team won and lost. It is typically reported in the form W–L, where W is the number of games the team won and L is the number of games the team lost. If a tournament allows ties and any occurred, that number is appended: W–L–T.
Record can be used to calculate winning percentage as (W + 0.5T) / (W + L + T), which if there are no ties simplifies to W / (W + L).
Record is typically used as the primary or secondary statistic by which to rank teams (secondary if there are multiple, tiered pools, in which case the rank of the team's pool comes first).
