Thanks to Joel and the rest of the WUAT crew for a fun day today --
it's not often we get to leave a tournament anymore when it's still
light outside. Considering the packet snafus at the beginning, this
is remarkable.
Kudos also to Illinois, who were far and away the class of the
field. Thanks for not beating us by too much. It was a lot of fun
going into the last match at 6-1 with you guys at 7-0 -- you guys
deserved to win and good luck to you the rest of the way.
Obviously, there were several teams there without some of their top
players, but I think this added to the experience of our B team, who
got valuable time in against good teams. Playing against up-and-
coming players like Jason Mueller (whose Missouri team could easily
be a Top 25 team at some point in the future, I would tend to agree)
was good for both of our teams.
Our A team had two consecutive matches come down to the last TU, and
both matches were fun and high scoring on both sides (against
Oklahoma and Iowa State, a credit to both teams).
Thanks for a good day and a second place trophy that spared no
expense (in fact, it's about twice as tall as some first place
tropies that members of our team said they had won in the past),
