Just a few quick things: a. I recently noticed that I had put the no-penalty deadline as Jan. 29 on some souurces, despite the Jan. 22 date in the official announcement. Since I was about to extend the no-penalty deadline anyway, I've decided to extend it the whole week, to Jan. 29. The Feb. 5 date will now carry a $15 (down from $20) penalty, and all other dates remain the same. b. We welcome freelance moderators; they will get their choice of avaliable Swarthmore tournament sets (SNEWT VI or VII, QOTC XI). Freelance packets are also welcomed and will be accepted until Feb. 17 (another extension). c. As much as we love freelancers, there's one thing we love even more: registrations. With less than five weeks to go, only five teams have committed. If it continues at this glacial pace, we'll have a small tournament indeed. I know this isn't all due to CBI- what about teams like Yale, Carnegie Mellon, Rutgers, etcetera? (just to name a few). Anyway, we need to know exactly how many rooms we need fairly soon. We're going to improve on what should already be a great value (we feed you breakfast *and* lunch, don't forget) so we will take $5 off the registration fee for any team that registers by the time we get back from Penn Bowl. We are also willing to work things out in case of any special circumstances, so feel free to drop me an email at cwhite2 [at] swarthmore [dot] edu. The tournament announcement can , as always, be found at http:// www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/org/collegebowl/qotc11.html . Chris White Swarthmore College Bowl
