Although I want to say a few things about JCV, I'll start by saying that Florida's Sunshine State Invitational was a great tournament. The South Carolina team attended and neglected to comment on it. Let me say that Kevin Comer was a great host and the questions were superb. If it was not a perfectly run affair, you'll never prove it by me. I should also say that the Florida Atlantic team is very good and made up of some nice fellows. It is true that JCV started late and could have been better publicized. I don't think anyone cared for the acting bonus questions; I didn't even understand what was required at first. However, the teams were all about equal in ability and that made for some exciting games. Every team heard at least thirteen rounds. South Carolina heard fifteen and that was fine with me. We paid a lot of money and I like to get what I pay for. I call hearing many rounds a big plus. The staff members were competent and kind. In particular, Edmund was nice to my wife when she hurt her foot. Our opponents were all very good and we enjoyed playing them. Adam Fine is a very gracious fellow and his comments were quite insightful. Vernon Davenport South Carolina
