<<Perhaps I am rash to accuse Penn of "conspiring" against these top 4 teams to create the "upsets" their customer base so desperately craves. Maybe Penn simply lacks editorial skill, tournament experience, and judgement so severely that they cannot competently run a playoff. And perhaps it was accidental that these extremely unlikely events just happened to occur in the first playoff round, rahter than the round robin, where the effects could be conveniently maximized, and while the upset craving public could be blind to the situation because they weren't playing.>> As several people have already posted, you are treading on ground very close to slander with these and other statements. Obviously you haven't been paying much attention to the replies that your rantings have generated. Penn has in Samer one of the most experienced and competent editors and tournament organizers in the Northeast. He's run at least seven or eight tournaments--including several national high school tournaments--in the last five years, which is probably significantly more than you have run in the last five years. So any comments that state that Penn is too incompetent or too inexperienced to run a tournament of this caliber just don't hold water. Moreover, that you believe that any tournament, particularly one as large and unwieldy as Penn Bowl would--or even *could*--be engineered so that certain teams would win or lose is disturbing. There's enough organizational details for an *unrigged* tournament to backfire, let alone trying to fix the outcome. Multiple Choice Question. If you're director of Penn Bowl, and it's two weeks before the tournament, what should I be doing? [a] Making sure you have enough rooms available. [b] Making sure you have enough packets available. [c] Making sure you have enough moderators and buzzers available. [d] Making sure you rig the tournament so that the four teams you suspect will finish #1 in their respective brackets will all lose in the first round of the playoffs on an unfair "upset special" to fourth-place teams that you can't even predict. "Mickmars," is [d] still *really* your answer?
