Congratulations to Dorman High School for winning the 2003 Duke Academic Festival, which was affected by the severe weather advisories surrounding our area, which dropped our field from around 44 to 35 in a span of two days. Despite that, and many delays due to some inexperienced staffers apparently, we perservered with an abbreviated 8-team playoff, with a 4-team playoff among the top schools in North Carolina. Seeding was done by W-L, followed by handout points per game. One can view the prelim statistics sorted by PPG at http://webspace4me.net/~etchuck/daf2003/DAF2003_standings.html . I hope they enjoyed the pre-playoffs entertainment of watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on a DVD purchased from China... with English audio and "English" subtitles. :) :)
