Based on overall feedback, there was not general--or even majority
agreement--among teams that they preferred the bracketed format used
in 2002 to the formats used at earlier ICTs. Some certainly did,
many certainly did not.
NAQT is also concerned about its ability to seed teams well enough
for bracket play to produce fair results (particularly for the
undergraduate championship): roster changes, different abilities on
more difficult questions, and teams that didn't compete at the SCT
make it very hard for us to accurately do that.
What would your ideal format for the ICT be?
