Sorry for the cross-posting on jucoqb, but... Northwest-Shoals won their 3rd Consecutive ACBL Championship Friday, April 18 at The University of Montevallo. Their record in the 12 team round robin tournament was 10-1. Bevill State - Jasper and Wallace - Hancevile were both 9-2. Bevill was 2nd by virtue of their victory over Wallace in round 8. Jefferson State and Snead were both 8-3. The tournament used NAQT IS-35. All rounds consisted of 20 untimed tossups. Unofficially, Northwest-Shoals totalled 3425 points. Bevill Jasper had 3130. Top individual players were Kivin Childers of Snead with 765, Chris Arthur of Shoals with 730, Adam Pinson of Bevill-Jasper with 700, Chad Ezekiel of Jefferson State with 380, and Josh Freeman of Wallace- Hanceville with 375. Kivin Childers of Snead was awarded his second consecutive League MVP award. Shoals only loss came in round 5, losing to Snead 290-220. Bevill-Jasper lost to Shoals 310-215, and Jefferson State 190-170. Jeff State was down 170-60 after 15, but came back with the last 5 tossups and all 30 bonus points on #20 to win. Wallace-Hancevill lost to Shoals 335-100, and to Bevill-Jasper 310- 135.
