I was scoping out the competition for the Kidder Cup this evening,
and it seemed to me that the field should be made up of some of the
coolest, most easy-going players on the circuit, but at the same
time people who are pretty good.
There are some people I have really come to like and enjoy talking
to that I don't or haven't gotten to play against much (Mike Burger,
Dave Bykowski, etc),
There are some good up-and-coming players (Leo Wolpert, Matthew
Marjan, etc.),
And the field seems about as evenly matched as any singles field
I've played in. I'm really looking forward to it.
But the topic I'd really like to put forward is this:
Who are the best FEMALE players in the country (either currently or
on their way up)?
As far as people I've played against, I have nothing but the utmost
respect for Susan from Chicago, Candace from Texas A&M, and Lenzy
from Oklahoma State (a young trash player). Also, Pam Mueller and
Alma Molino from Loyola and Trisha Bucholz from Illinois Wesleyan
all played well at DUCK Bowl recently.
What do other people think?
