> Perhaps it's > things like this that turn people off from the college game (women, > younger players, etc). Of course, I could be wrong, and it could turn out that women really are brittle enough to be turned away from the game by something as trifling as the occasional sophomoric "naughty" names attached to tournaments; I'm not a woman, and I don't know. However, most of the women I know who have turned away from the game have done so less for reasons like this and more because they have experienced some direct, overt sexism, like male captains who won't take them seriously, won't consult them on bonuses but _will_ defer to all the males on the team (even when she's vociierously asserting that she knows the answer), male teammates who will buzz and neg things their female players claim expert knowledge in because they don't trust their female players actually to be good, males who run the team selecting those who travel to tournaments based on the girls on the team they happen to be dating, things like that. Most of the women I know are thick- skinned enough either to laugh at things like TIT, FUCT, PRICK, CUNT, etc. or at the very least roll their eyes at it; what seems to bother them is difference in treatment. Just a thought; then again, I'm a vicious, snarling malaroit, so what the hell do I know? S
