This announcement is tentative--mainly to determine interest. Truman
State University in sunny Kirksville, MO, will be hosting their
second annual invitational tournament (Titled: Brainal Leakage: The
Larry Iles Memorial Tournament) on Saturday, January 31, 2004. This
date (one week before the NAQT Sectionals) should provide a valuable
tune-up for participating teams. The questions will be written in-
house, so no packet submission, and they will follow an NAQT format,
powers and all. Difficulty is projected as slightly greater than
NAQT Sectionals. The tournament will probably be comprised of a
divisional round robin preliminary followed by a double-elimination
playoff. Pricing will *likely* be less than $80 per team, before
discounts for equipment, etc.
We are also seeking possible mirror sites for our tournament, and we
would like that mirror schools be at least 800 miles away from
Truman. If we get a mirror school or two, finished question packets
will likely be sent to them by November 15 so that they can read,
practice with, and edit the packets.
Please direct all inquiries and statements of interest to me at
