REMINDER II: 2003 Terrapin Invitational Tournament

UPDATE

As of now, there are 11 teams signed up for the 2003 Terrapin:

Virginia Commonwealth
Maryland (house)
Southern Virginia (2)
Chicago
Princeton (2)
Swarthmore (2)
Rutgers
Rochester

If that list is wrong, please let me know ASAP.  Ideally, I would 
like 13 teams.  There is still time to register!  If you are 
inexperienced or very, very, very nice to me, I may waive the packet 
requirement.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE

The Maryland Academic Quiz Team is pleased to announce the 17th 
annual Terrapin Invitational Tournament, which will be held 
Saturday, 
October 25th at the University of Maryland (College Park, MD). This 
modified ACF tournament is open to all collegiate teams. Bastard and 
masters teams may play with consent of the tournament director, but 
they will be ineligible for prizes and/or playoffs. If you would 
like 
to freelance a packet for the 2003 Terrapin Invitational Tournament, 
you will receive in return a packet set from any TIT or DSHIT back 
to 
and including the 2001-02 season.

To register to play or freelance, please email Daniel Greenstein at 
the email address at the bottom. Include "TIT" or "Terrapin" 
somewhere in the subject line. This is important because Maryland is 
hosting ACF Fall Tournament the following weekend.

Base fee: $80 
Working buzzer: -$10 
Experienced moderator: -$10 
Travel: -$10 per school for each 300 miles 
Novice: -$10 per school for not attending the 2002 TIT 
Parking: free on weekends! 
Minimum fee per team: $40

This tournament is packet submission.

Packet discounts/penalties (all times EDT): 
Packet in by Friday, September 5 at 11:59 pm: -$30 
Packet in by Friday, September 26 at 11:59 pm: -$15 
Packet in by Friday, October 3 at 11:59 pm: $0 
Packet in by Friday, October 10 at 11:59 pm: +$15 
Packet in by Friday, October 17 at 11:59 pm: +$30 
Packet in after Friday, October 17: +$45 

You must have permission to play from the tournament director if you 
do not submit a packet or submit it after October 17. If you wish 
not 
to submit a packet, please let me know by October 3; otherwise, the 
associated packet penalty will be levied upon your request.

Please follow the guidelines outlined in the Distribution and 
Formatting Guidelines linked to from the TIT page at the MAQT 
website. Please make your packet slightly below ACF Regionals 
difficulty. If you flaunt these guidelines, I will return your 
packet. Submit packets to Daniel Greenstein.
